Insecurity: Police, Army, Not Listening To Us, We Need State Police - Governor Lawal

The Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, has vowed that those behind the violence in the state would be brought to justice.

He stated this while reacting to the recent killings in the Kauran Namoda Local Government Area, which was recently hit by a wave of bandit attacks.

The governor condemned the senseless killings and vowed that those behind the violence would be exposed and shamed by divine intervention.

The visit, which took place on Wednesday, covered five heavily affected communities: Banga, Sakajiki, Kuryar Madaro, Maguru, and Tambarawa.

These areas have witnessed a disturbing rise in attacks by bandits, leaving many residents devastated and mourning the loss of loved ones.

Governor Lawal, who had been out of the state when the most recent attack occurred, said he immediately instructed the Deputy Governor to lead a high-powered delegation to sympathise with the victims.

Upon his return to Gusau, the state capital, he visited the affected towns to assess the damage and console grieving families.

I visited Banga town to express my sympathy with the people regarding the recent bandit attack that occurred a few days ago.

“I just returned to Gusau yesterday after the trip, and I felt an urge to make visiting the affected communities my top priority today,” the governor said.

He condemned the ongoing violence, describing the attackers as enemies of peace who deliberately aim to instill fear and destabilize the region.

May Allah expose and shame those responsible for these brutal attacks and senseless killings. I urge everyone to stay steadfast in prayer for an end to all forms of criminality in our dear state,” he said.

The governor also reiterated his administration’s commitment to ending insecurity in Zamfara and pledged to intensify the fight against banditry with renewed strategies and partnerships.

The Emir of Kauran Namoda, Sunusi Ahmad, praised the governor’s timely visit and efforts in addressing the state’s growing security challenges.

These visits are very dear to the people of the affected communities and Kauran Namoda Local Government Area, and we are grateful. May Almighty continue to guide you,” the Emir said.
