Nollywood actor, Gideon Okeke, has raised concerns over hygiene on set after returning home with rashes.
According to the actor, the rash was linked to a costume provided by the wardrobe department.
Naija News reports that he shared his experience on Instagram while expressing frustration with the state of the wardrobe used in epic movie productions.
According to him, the animal skin tunics given to actors are not properly cleaned before being reused.
Okeke urged the wardrobe team to take cleanliness seriously and prevent harm to other actors.
He also mentioned that the costume had an unpleasant smell, which he believes could have contributed to the reaction on his skin.
He wrote: “Back home with a body full of RASHES !!! Dear wardrobe department… Do Nollywood a crying favor by washing those animal skin tunics, before giving it to the next unsuspecting talent. The yeye wey dey that wardrobe dey SMELL Diaries from a Nollywood EPIC.”
In other news, Nigerian actor Chinedu Okeke has reacted to reports that he left the movie industry due to being regularly cast as an armed robber.
Naija News reports that the actor, known for his roles in action-packed Nollywood films like Issakaba, Peace Maker, Shina Rambo, and V-Boot, spoke during a recent interview.
The rumour, which started earlier this year, claimed that Chinedu grew tired of playing roles involving crime and violence and had begged filmmakers for lighter characters.
It was also alleged that he left Nollywood because people began seeing him as a criminal in real life due to the kinds of roles he played.
Reacting to the report, Chinedu said he never made such comments and had no reason to complain about the very roles that brought him fame.
