Nigerian international, Victor Osimhen, has been linked with a potential appearance in Turkish cinema following a light-hearted interaction with actor and director, Şahan Gökbakar.
The Galatasaray striker recently met Gökbakar, who is widely recognised for his Recep İvedik film series.
During their meeting, Victor Osimhen asked, “Are you going to give me roles in movies?” to which the actor responded, “Of course.”
Gökbakar later fuelled speculation by posting on social media: “Osi Baba wanted a role in movies. Shall we make a surprise at Recep 8?”
The post attracted attention online, with Turkish pop singer Simge Sağın describing Osimhen as “an incredibly good man” and wishing him continued happiness.
The 26-year-old Nigerian international has previously featured in the commercial Drawing, giving him brief experience in front of the camera.
On the pitch, the forward made his first appearance of the season as a second-half substitute in Galatasaray’s 3-0 victory over Fatih Karagümrük at Rams Park on Saturday. The result kept the defending champions top of the Turkish Super Lig with a perfect start to their campaign.
Osimhen, last season’s top scorer, is expected to play a key role in the club’s title defence, while speculation continues over a possible crossover into Turkish entertainment.
