President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday, inaugurated members of the Nigeria Law Reforms Commission (NLRC) shortly before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

Naija News reports that the brief swearing-in ceremony took place at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Two members took the oath of office: Professor Dakas CJ Dakas, who will serve as Chairman of the commission, and Dr Uchenna Eugene, appointed as Commissioner.

At the FEC meeting presided over by Tinubu, the council observed a minute’s silence in honour of former Minister of Agriculture and one-time National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Audu Ogbeh.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, described the late Ogbeh as “a patriotic Nigerian” whose contributions to the nation’s development were significant.

In attendance at the council chambers were Vice President Kashim Shettima; Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Esther Didi Walson-Jack; National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; and Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Also present were ministers and representatives of ministries scheduled to make presentations during the meeting.

Naija News reports that the FEC meeting comes amidst reports of the President being sick, a report which the Presidency has dispelled.
