President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday received Anambra State Governor, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, for a private meeting.
While details of the discussions were not disclosed, the meeting was held behind closed doors and lasted several hours.
The talks may have centred on federal support for ongoing projects in Anambra State, potential investment partnerships, and joint initiatives aimed at boosting regional stability and economic growth.
According to Punch, the meeting could be connected to the forthcoming Anambra governorship election, as Soludo is expected to seek a second term in office.
In other news, a former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Senator Chris Ngige, has disassociated himself from the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 8, 2025, Anambra governorship election, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, over the use of his name for the campaign.
Naija News reports that Ngige, in a press statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Assistant on Media Affairs, Hyggy Obialo, frowned at his photograph, which was used alongside that of Ukachukwu and his running mate, Senator Uche Ekwunife, in their campaign posters, saying such action is aimed at misleading the public.
Obialo said the former governor of Anambra State is on “sabbatical” from active partisan politics for now and should not be disturbed as he is taking his well-deserved rest after 25 years of active partisan politics and public service.
