Paulina Porizkova is embracing her natural beauty at 60, sharing unfiltered photos of herself on Instagram to highlight authenticity over perfection. The supermodel posted two contrasting images: one in a white bikini taken during vacation with ideal lighting, and another in nude-colored underwear at home, without posing or flattering light. This is me. Vacation, pretty light, posing for a shot, she captioned the first image. Of the second, she wrote, This is also me. Home, not great light, not posing.
She used the opportunity to reflect on the realities of aging. This is 60. Sixty years of sometimes healthy eating, sometimes not. Sixty years of sometimes working out, sometimes not, she said. Doing the right things, followed by doing the wrong things, over and over again. Porizkova, a mother of two, shared that shes still learning what works for her body and what doesnt and shes grown to enjoy that process. The beauty of 60 is that now I understand the importance is in the lesson, not passing the exam, she noted. Known for speaking out about aging, Porizkova has often challenged societys fear of wrinkles and growing older. Were so terrified of wrinkles because they make us feel no longer relevant or desirable, she said during a past interview. But I see wrinkles as a map of life why would you want to erase that? Porizkova also recently announced her engagement to TV producer Jeff Greenstein, six years after the death of her husband, Cars frontman Ric Ocasek. The couple was married in 1989, had two sons Jonathan and Oliver and separated in 2018. Ocasek passed away in 2019.
