Reality TV star, Pere Egbi has shared his thoughts on the state of film production in Africa.

Naija News reports that the actor pointed out that South Africa currently has an edge over Nollywood in areas such as storytelling, filmmaking, and work ethics.

The former Big Brother Naija housemate disclosed that while Nollywood has continued to grow and gain global attention, South Africa has made noticeable progress in production quality and industry standards.

Egbi stressed the importance of partnership between the two industries, saying that collaboration would help strengthen African cinema on the world stage.

He wrote: “No offense to my Nollywood colleagues but you see South Africa, they are ahead of us o when it comes to film production, story telling, film making, work ethics, name it. They are ahead. We need to collaborate!”

In other news, Ghanaian actor Mawuli Gavor has revealed why he left his corporate job at global accounting firm KPMG to fully pursue a career in entertainment.

In an interview on the Blackvolta Podcast, Gavor shared that he initially tried to balance his job at KPMG with early morning modelling and photoshoot commitments.

Naija News reports that at the time, he was earning 770 cedis monthly while struggling to meet the demands of both worlds.
