Six schoolgirls, aged 12 and 13, have been arrested after a 13-year-old girl was injured in what police described as a “deeply troubling attack” in Hove, United Kingdom. The victim was assaulted by a group of youths in Wish Park shortly before 6pm on Friday, August 15, according to Sussex Police. She was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged. Three girls, a 12-year-old and two 13-year-olds from Brighton, were initially arrested on suspicion of assault. Police later confirmed that another 12-year-old and two 13-year-olds had also been arrested in connection with the incident. Chief Inspector Simon Marchant of the Brighton Neighbourhood Policing Team said the attack has caused significant concern within the community. Our officers have now arrested all of the young people we wanted to speak with in connection with the report, and wider enquiries remain underway, he said. He also addressed reports of footage circulating online, urging the public not to share or speculate as this could impact future legal proceedings. This case is being fully and robustly investigated, and if you have information to report, we ask you come forward and speak with police, he added. The post Six schoolgirls between 12 and 13 arrested after injuring a 13-year-old in deeply troubling attack appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
