Six Barcelona players, including England international, Marcus Rashford, are yet to be registered for the upcoming LaLiga season due to the club’s ongoing financial issues, according to a report by SPORT.

Rashford joined Barcelona this summer from Manchester United on a season-long loan, with an option to buy for €30 million at the end of the campaign. However, like five other players, his registration is currently pending approval from the league.

This is not the first time Barcelona have faced such problems. Last season, players Dani Olmo and Pau Victor were given temporary licences that LaLiga later revoked during the January transfer window.

Despite the setback, Barcelona president Joan Laporta remains confident all six players will be registered before the season begins.

“It’s progressing well,” Laporta told ESPN. “We’re doing our job and we’re confident that we’ll be able to register everyone.”

Meanwhile, head coach, Hansi Flick, has started integrating Rashford into the squad. In a recent pre-season match against Daegu, Rashford replaced Robert Lewandowski at halftime and scored in the 65th minute to help Barcelona secure a 5-0 win.

Speaking to AS after the match, Flick explained why Rashford was used as a central striker.

“He can play at number 9 or number 11. We changed it because we had to be careful with Ferrán. We wanted to see how he adapted to the position,” Flick said.

Note that Rashford made his unofficial debut for Barcelona on July 27 in a 3-1 win over Vissel Kobe.
