Sean Diddy Combs is making a renewed push for release from jail as his legal team files a fresh motion for bail, arguing that he is being unfairly incarcerated ahead of his October 3 sentencing. In a new filing submitted to Judge Arun Subramanian, Diddys attorneys Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos argue that the music mogul is the only man in the United States currently in custody for hiring male s3x workers to have s3x with his girlfriend. The defense claims his conviction under the Mann Act does not justify his continued detention. The documents, obtained by TMZ, state that most individuals convicted under the Mann Act which prohibits the transport of individuals across state lines for illegal s3xual activity are typically released before sentencing. Diddy was found guilty of two Mann Act violations but acquitted of more serious charges including racketeering conspiracy and s3x trafficking. His lawyers argue that Diddys actions involved only consenting adults and were part of a consensual swinger lifestyle with his former partners, including Cassie and another woman identified as Jane. They emphasize that the male escorts were of legal age and that Diddy himself did not engage in s3x with them. The legal team also calls the application of the Mann Act in this case outdated, noting the law was enacted in 1910 and that societal norms around s3x and relationships have changed dramatically since then. Following the June verdict, Diddy was denied bail after the judge cited concerns about his potential danger to the community. The court referenced a history of violence, including a recently publicized video from 2016 showing him assaulting Cassie in a hotel. In response, Diddys lawyers acknowledge the 2016 incident but argue that he has not exhibited a pattern of violence since 2018, with the exception of a single altercation with Jane in June 2024, which they claim she instigated. They argue he poses no threat if released. The proposed bail package includes a $50 million bond backed by Diddys Florida estate and supported by three financially credible individuals. He would be confined to his Miami residence and restricted to travel only within the Southern Districts of Florida and New York. He would also be placed under federal supervision, forfeit his passport, and accept additional conditions such as home detention, electronic monitoring, and treatment for mental health or substance abuse. The judge has not yet ruled on the new request. Prosecutors have previously opposed Diddys release ahead of sentencing. The post Singer Diddy files new motion for bail appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
