The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the composition of a 110-member main organising committee to oversee the organization of its 2025 elective national convention.
Naija News reports the PDP unveiled the committee in a statement on Monday, released via its official 𝕏 account.
It would be recalled that the party had earlier disclosed that its convention would hold on Saturday and Sunday, November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
“Sequel to the Resolution of the National Executive Committee (NEC) to hold the 2025 Elective National Convention of our great Party on Saturday, 15th to Sunday, 16th November, 2025 in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital, the following Party members have been appointed as Members of the 2025 National Convention Organizing Committee (Main Committee),” the PDP announced.
Some of the members of the National Convention Organising Committee (Main Committee) are Hon Ahmadu Umaru, Chairman; Senator Ademola Jackson Adeleke, Deputy Chairman; Kabir Tanimi Turaki (SAN) Deputy Chairman 2; Barrister Peter Mbah, Secretary; and Senator Adolphus Wabara, Board of Trustees (BOT) Chairman.

Meanwhile, former Secretary General of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Anthony Sani, has asserted that it would be a wrong decision for the former President, Goodluck Jonathan, to accept the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2027.
Naija News reports that Sani made this known during an interview with Daily Post, while reacting to speculation that Jonathan has accepted to contest the presidential election in 2027 on the PDP platform.
However, Sani stated that Jonathan is politically savvy and astute enough not to know that the main opposition is currently fragmented into former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, purportedly contesting in African Democratic Congress (ADC), former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi contesting in Labour Party, stressing that they may not preval against the incumbent President, Bola Tinubu.
Sani maintained that, considering the current state of the country, there is nothing in Jonathan’s past performances that suggests he has what it takes to turn the tide around.
