The Presidency has accused the Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, of peddling falsehoods while criticising President Bola Tinubu’s government.
Naija News reports that the Special Adviser to Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, made the remark during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday.
He criticised the opposition leaders for their alleged unconstructive criticism, saying they have failed to raise any policy issues about what Tinubu is doing wrong.
Bwala also stated that Peter Obi’s criticism is closely focused on Tinubu’s policy, but his claims always fail to pass forensic tests.
He said, “Opposition cannot come here and talk about malnutrition, you know why? They don’t have the ideas.
“Till today, the opposition has not come up with any policy issues to say President Tinubu is wrong, this is how it should be.
“Listening to them, the person, who came close in discussing policy is Peter Obi.
“Unfortunately, Peter Obi is doing ‘catch and carry.’ Whenever you subject what he says to forensic analysis, it always comes out as falsehood.”
Meanwhile, the Obidient Movement’s National Coordinator, Yunusa Tanko, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu is creating problems in every political party interested in former presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Speaking during an appearance on AIT Focus Nigeria, Tanko stated that whenever Obi’s name comes up, the ruling party tries to ensure he does not get the presidential ticket.
Tanko said Tinubu’s administration is working on “Operation do not allow Peter Obi to have a ticket.”
However, he expressed optimism that Obi would clinch the ticket of any political party he runs under.
