Nigerian actress, Moyo Lawal, has condemned the sharing of a viral video showing a passenger, Comfort Emmason, whose top was torn during a scuffle on an Ibom Air flight, leaving her exposed.
Naija News reports that the 37-year-old expressed her displeasure in an Instagram post on Wednesday, faulting both the way the incident was handled and the decision of some people to circulate the clip online.
She described such acts as lacking empathy and basic human decency, stressing that no matter the disagreement, it is wrong to publicly humiliate someone by distributing sensitive material without consent.
Lawal also criticised those who justified the incident based on the victim’s appearance, saying it reflected poor moral upbringing.
She urged people working in service roles to manage their emotions better and called for more self-control in dealing with anger.
She wrote: “What is it about, some service providers, not understanding that if you are in the service industry, you have to actually serve and not be so prone to emotional displays?
“Then the set of people, who are so comfortable sharing nudity that was not authorized just for clickbait and to humiliate the party in the material. Who are the people raising this kind of malicious people?
“Let’s not even talk about the sick people who share and save such materials. Those ones are not loved at home.
“Like I promise you, it doesn’t matter what someone has done to you don’t you have human decency? Don’t you have empathy??
“Then the set of people who try to justify how a person dresses or was dressed as justification for such an act, whew, majority of us are not getting trained at home.
“We honestly need to find a way to include anger management in our lives, so many hurt and angry people just waiting to explode.”
