Terrorists holding several hostages in Kwara State have released a disturbing new video showing a Point-of-Sale (POS) attendant and two children being flogged as the kidnappers demanded a ransom of ₦50 million from their families.
The video, obtained by SaharaReporters on Thursday, shows one of the gunmen repeatedly beating the captives, two of them visibly young, inside what appears to be a forest hideout.
The abductees, visibly emaciated and exhausted, were heard crying out in pain and pleading with the Nigerian government and the public for help.
The victims include a popular POS agent identified as Yman, who was kidnapped in late June 2025 alongside others during a wave of abductions in Kwara North.
“They are demanding ₦50 million before they can release them,” a relative of one of the victims said.
“We have sold lands and all valuable properties to raise this money and even issued flyers to call for donations. It is sad that the government and security operatives are not doing anything to rescue them,” the relative added.
The victims’ families decried the psychological torture being endured by the hostages, describing the latest video as “heartbreaking and inhumane.”
Earlier reports revealed that the terrorists had hijacked Yman’s TikTok and WhatsApp accounts, using them to post disturbing content and issue threats.
In previous videos, one of the terrorists appeared barefaced in at least seven TikTok uploads, posting directly from the forest hideout.
Another family source said, “He has been using Yman’s phone number to call us.
“He even used the WhatsApp line to send us a video of Yman crying and begging for food due to hunger and torture. Now, they’ve hijacked his TikTok account and the kidnapper is confidently uploading videos from their hideout.”
The brazen use of traceable digital platforms by the terrorists has sparked outrage and renewed criticism of Nigeria’s security apparatus.
A family source lamented, “The bandit is not even covering his face.
“He is doing this because he knows the Nigerian Government and security operatives cannot track him. This country is finished.”
