Nigerian socialite, Ismaila Mustapha, popularly known as Mompha, has expressed support for fuji artiste Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1, following a controversy involving the artiste at Abuja airport.
Reacting to the development, Mompha said that the situation was being blown out of proportion.
He described it as an attempt to harm a respected cultural figure.
He said K1, also called the Fuji Commander, is an important personality in the entertainment world whose reputation should be protected.
He wrote in a post shared on Instagram: “I don hear say Keke Jam person. I don hear say car Jam person. Them wan use Aeroplane kill Fuji commander Please now. Fuji commander means alot to us oooo..Oluaye iba eni..Oba Adegoroye.”
According to multiple reports and video footage, K1 De Ultimate was standing directly in front of the aircraft on the tarmac when the pilot began taxiing.
He immediately ducked and moved aside to avoid being struck by the wing, which saved him from serious injury.
Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo condemned the act as dangerous, likening it to a hostage situation, and ordered the NCAA to place K1 on a six-month no-fly list while notifying all airlines.
He also faulted the pilots for safety breaches.
The NCAA has petitioned AGF Lateef Fagbemi and IGP Kayode Egbetokun to prosecute K1 under aviation laws, warning that passenger misconduct will not be tolerated.
