Inter Milan are set to table a final offer worth €50 million for Atalanta forward, Ademola Lookman, as the Serie A giants intensify efforts to sign the Nigerian international.
Ademola Lookman, 27, is reportedly keen on joining the 2025 UEFA Champions League finalists, but Atalanta have so far resisted all advances.
Inter’s initial proposals, including a loan with a buy option and a subsequent €40 million bid, were rejected by the Bergamo-based club, which is holding out for a fee closer to €50 million.
The transfer saga took a new turn this week after Lookman submitted a formal transfer request and skipped training in protest. The forward also voiced his frustrations publicly on social media, citing poor treatment by the club.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Inter Milan are now willing to meet Atalanta’s full asking price and will include bonus payments in their third and final proposal. The move would mark the Nerazzurri’s fifth signing of the summer window.
Atalanta, however, maintains that a previous gentleman’s agreement with Lookman only applied to offers from foreign clubs, not domestic rivals. The club is reportedly hesitant to strengthen a direct competitor in Serie A.
Lookman’s current contract at Atalanta runs until the summer of 2027. However, the club now faces the risk of holding onto an unhappy player, which could impact both performance and dressing room morale.
There are also concerns that Lookman’s market value could decline if he is not sold this summer.
