Arsenal midfielder, Ethan Nwaneri, has signed a new five-year contract that will keep him at the North London club until the summer of 2030.
Ethan Nwaneri, 18, who made history as the youngest-ever Premier League player at 15 years and 181 days in 2022, has committed his long-term future to the Gunners following a breakthrough 2024/2025 season.
Nwaneri’s previous deal was set to expire in June 2026. He said: “It means everything to me, I’m so happy to have got it done. This is where I feel at home, and where I’m going to develop the best.”
The England-born forward added: “I’m very excited. I see this as my first real season and part of a proper squad in the changing room. I think I’ve actually become more direct over the past few years and I’ve added more goals, so I’m excited for what will come next.”
The attacking midfielder, who is a product of Arsenal’s academy, made 37 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring nine goals.
His first two senior goals came in the League Cup against Bolton Wanderers and Preston North End, followed by his first Premier League goal against Nottingham Forest in November.
In January, he became the third player, after Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney, to score three Premier League goals before turning 18. He later scored in the Champions League against Girona, a goal that earned Arsenal’s Goal of the Month award.
Nwaneri was also named Arsenal’s Player of the Month for February after scoring in a 5-1 win over Manchester City. He made his England Under-18 debut on his 18th birthday in May before helping the Under-21s retain their European Championship title in Slovakia in June.
