Nigerian actor, Jim Iyke has alleged that medical doctors are taught during their careers not to heal patients completely.
Iyke made these remarks during an interview on the Echoo Room show hosted by reality TV star Teddy A.
Naija News reports that he argued that the health industry operates in a way that encourages repeat visits rather than full recovery, as keeping patients dependent is more profitable.
The thespian suggested that the pharmaceutical sector benefits from this system, describing it as a trillion-dollar business.
He claimed that if doctors provided treatments that cured people fully, they would lose returning customers, which would reduce their earnings.
He also expressed concerns about genetically modified products and what he described as deceptive practices in orthodox medicine.
He said, “There’s a GMO everywhere. The orthodox medicines; the lies. If I say it anywhere, it upsets them [medical practitioners].
“Medical doctors are basically trained all through their career not to heal. It’s big pharma business. If they tell you what to take and they heal you, you’re not a customer anymore and they won’t make money.
“That’s a trillion-dollar industry.”
In other, Nollywood actor, Prince Eke has declared that the growing insecurity across Nigeria, especially in Benue State, may be connected to a global push for genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in Africa.
Naija News reports that in a post on his Instagram page, the actor stated that the wave of attacks targeting farmers who use traditional seeds is not random.
According to him, the violence, land grabs, and kidnappings are forcing farmers off their lands, leading to a drop in local food production.
