Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, has claimed that Nigerians are being encouraged to attend All Progressives Congress (APC) rallies, not out of genuine support, but to create a false impression for President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking on Trust TV, Dalung, who served under the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, accused the APC-led government of mismanaging the nation’s resources and neglecting development.
Dalung said, “We are encouraging so many people to join APC because they have refused to invest the resources of this country in development, so we are sending people.
“Watch out during APC rallies, the crowd you will see there will deceive the president to go and be resting in France.”
Dalung recalled events during the “#Endgovernance” protest, alleging that ministers attempted to buy public loyalty.
“We had money and when we realised that the ministers were carrying money and calling yam people to give them ₦20,000, we disengaged our followership and encouraged them to go to the houses of ministers to insult the man called Solomon Dalung who is wearing a red beret and deceiving them,” he said.
According to the former minister, the money given to protesters was repurposed.
“They collected ₦20,000 and brought it. That was the money we used in buying minerals and food on the day of the protest.”
Dalung maintained that the mobilisation to APC rallies was a form of reclaiming misused public funds.
“We are encouraging people to go because it’s our money and they have refused to invest it in the development of our country,” he insisted.
