West London club, Chelsea have left Raheem Sterling out of their official 31-man first-team squad for the 2025/2026 Premier League season, signalling the club’s intention to sell the winger this summer.
Sterling is one of nine players excluded from the updated Chelsea squad list published on the club’s official website. The others are Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, Renato Veiga, Alfie Gilchrist, Carney Chukwuemeka, Lesley Ugochukwu, Armando Broja, and David Datro Fofana.
Chelsea’s latest squad list includes all of the club’s new summer signings, including defender Jorrel Hato, whose move from Ajax was confirmed on Sunday.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that three of the excluded players, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Lesley Ugochukwu, and Carney Chukwuemeka, are set to leave Stamford Bridge on permanent transfers.
According to Romano, Dewsbury-Hall has already agreed personal terms with Everton, and a permanent deal with Chelsea has been reached. The Toffees are expected to pay a total fee of around £29 million for the midfielder.
Ugochukwu and Chukwuemeka are also expected to depart permanently during the current transfer window.
Chelsea are still looking to bring in one or two more players before the window closes as manager Enzo Maresca continues to reshape the squad for the new season.
