German giants Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Luis Diaz from Liverpool FC in a deal reportedly worth €75 million (₦126 billion), including performance-related add-ons.

Naija News reports that the Bundesliga champions announced the acquisition of the Colombian international on Wednesday, confirming that Diaz has penned a five-year deal that will keep him at the Allianz Arena until 2029.

Bayern’s CEO, Jan-Christian Dreesen, expressed delight at the capture of the 28-year-old winger, describing him as “one of the best left wingers in the Premier League.”

“He brings real player character from Liverpool to FC Bayern — he’s won silverware with every one of his clubs to date,” Dreesen said.

Luis Diaz won the Premier League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup during his spell at Anfield.

Speaking after his unveiling, Diaz expressed his excitement about joining the six-time European champions.

“It means a lot to me to be part of FC Bayern,” Diaz said.

“They’re one of the biggest clubs in the world. I want to help my new team with my way of playing football and my character.
My goal is to win every possible title, and that’s what we’ll work for every day as a team.”

Naija News reports that Diaz had a strong campaign last season under Liverpool’s new boss, Arne Slot, scoring 17 goals in 50 appearances as the Reds clinched their 20th English league title.

He was notably absent from Liverpool’s 4-2 friendly defeat to AC Milan in Hong Kong last Saturday, further fuelling transfer rumours that have now come to fruition.

The move for Diaz is seen as a direct response to the injury suffered by Jamal Musiala, who is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after breaking his leg and dislocating his ankle during the Club World Cup.

Diaz’s arrival is expected to inject pace, creativity, and depth into Bayern’s attacking options as they prepare for the new Bundesliga season and a fresh UEFA Champions League campaign.
