Human Rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, has argued that the recent airport incident involving Fuji music maestro, King Wasiu Ayinde aka KWAM1, has been handled differently so far because he is friends with President Bola Tinubu. In a chat with Channels TV, Inibehe was of the opinion that KWAM1’s apology does not hold water as he committed a crime and must be tried for it. He argued that every inmate in the custodial centers would love to be given the opportunity to also apologize for their wrong doing in a bid to secure their freedom. He went on to say that Evans the Kidnapper who is currently in prison has apologised for his crimes and so like KWAM1, the government should forgive him and discontinue his incarceration.Inibehe said that the ideology that the law is weak on the powerful and powerful on the weak is what will cause a lot of problems in Nigeria. In his wordsI doubt if there is any inmate in Kirikiri that is not willing to offer an apology to be freed. Evans the convicted kidnapper has apologized, let them government free him since Nigeria is now setting free people who violate the law on an apology. I saw Abike Erewa saying to Err is human. So if apology is now the national policy for being free after going against the law, all Nigerians should be given the same opportunity, What KWAM1 did cannot be tolerated.Do you know what he was so audacious? He is a friend of the President. He is connected to the high and mighty. You would have also seen the audio circulating where he allegedly threatened the owner of the airline. What do you think emboldens him? Because impunity has become our culture”Watch a video of him speaking below View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lindaikejiblog (@lindaikejiblogofficial) The post Airport drama: KWAM1s case is different because he is the friend of the President.
