2026: APC Releases Timetable For Ekiti Governorship Election, Sets Nomination Form At ₦50 Million

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled the official timetable and schedule of activities for the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State, setting out key dates and processes for aspirants and party members.

Naija News reports that the timetable, signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, and published on APC’s official 𝕏 handle on Friday, details the timeline leading up to the governorship poll slated for Saturday, June 20, 2026.

The election process began with the Notice of Election to the State Chapter on Friday, July 25, 2025, followed by the Update of Membership Register, which commenced on July 28, 2025, and will close on Friday, August 15, 2025.

The APC stressed that “only members whose names appear on the register and are up to date in paying their membership dues will be eligible to vote and be voted for.”

The sale of nomination and expression of interest forms for the governorship ticket will open on Monday, August 18 and close on Monday, September 2, 2025. Completed forms and delegate forms must be submitted by Thursday, September 11, 2025.

Screening, Delegates Congress and Primaries

According to the announcement, the screening of aspirants will take place between Tuesday, September 23, and Wednesday, September 24, 2025, with results to be published on Friday, September 25, 2025.

Appeals against screening results must be lodged by Saturday, September 26, 2025.

The Delegate Congress will hold on Thursday, October 2, 2025, followed by the Delegate Congress Appeal on Friday, October 3, 2025.

Naija News understands that the party’s gubernatorial Primary Election is scheduled for Monday, October 27, 2025, with appeals to be heard between Wednesday, October 29 and Thursday, October 30, 2025.

A congress to ratify the gubernatorial primary election results, in line with the 2022 Electoral Act, will take place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

Aspirants will be able to collect access codes for online submission of forms from Monday, November 10, 2025, while the list of nominated candidates will be submitted to the National Working Committee (NWC) by Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

The final list of candidates to be uploaded on the INEC portal must be completed by Friday, January 16, 2026.

Campaign activities officially kick off on Monday, April 6, 2026, with a grand finale set for Thursday, June 18, 2026, two days before the election.

Cost of Nomination Forms

The APC pegged the cost of governorship nomination forms at ₦50 million; ₦10 million for the Expression of Interest form, and ₦40 million for the Nomination Form.

Female aspirants and persons with disabilities are required to pay only for the Expression of Interest form, as the Nomination Form will be issued free.

Aspirants aged 25 to 40 will pay for the Expression of Interest form and receive a 50% discount on the Nomination Form.

The delegate form will cost ₦5,000, with eligibility tied to being financially active in the party for at least three months prior to the congress, contributing at least ₦200 per month.
