The Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle Johnson Suleman, recently met with popular social critic, Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), in Auchi, Edo State, following a tragic truck accident that claimed three lives near the church headquarters.
Naija News reports that three persons were confirmed dead after a Dangote Cement truck crushed a vehicle close to the Omega Fire Ministry in Auchi.
Videos circulating on social media showed Apostle Suleman and VDM meeting on top of a pedestrian bridge near the crash site as a crowd of onlookers cheered.
The two were seen in deep conversation, though the details of their discussion could not be ascertained.
The incident has sparked renewed outrage in Auchi over the constant movement of Dangote Cement trucks through the town.
Just last week, tragedy struck when Ruth Otabor, the sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna, was severely injured by a Dangote Cement truck, barely six days after graduating from Auchi Polytechnic.
Otabor reportedly lost one leg to amputation and doctors fear she may lose the other.
In response to the recurring accidents, VDM joined Auchi residents in staging a massive protest, demanding that Dangote trucks be barred from passing through the community.
According to Daily Post, eyewitnesses at Sunday’s crash described scenes of panic as residents rushed to the accident spot, with many blaming the continued presence of Dangote trucks on the roads for the frequent loss of lives.
While Apostle Suleman and VDM’s private discussion was not made public, their meeting was widely interpreted as part of efforts to draw greater attention to the plight of the community and the safety concerns surrounding heavy-duty trucks.
