2027: Okowa Backs Tinubu For Re-election, Says He Has Brought Stability To Nigeria

Former Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a leader who is bringing stability and hope back to Nigeria.

Naija News reports that Okowa made the remarks in Abuja on Monday during a national summit organised by the Integrity Group of Nigeria (IGN) with the theme ‘Renewed Hope Agenda Through Continuity.’

Represented by his former Special Adviser on National Assembly and Inter-Governmental Relationships, Pascal Adigwe, Okowa said President Tinubu has proven to be an “action president” who accepts responsibility rather than shifting blame to past administrations.

“Tinubu’s decisions might be tough or rough, but they are yielding positive results. Tinubu is bringing stability, he’s bringing back hope, he’s taking the bull by the horn. He promised Nigeria that he will come to the saddle and take responsibility. That is what he has done,” Okowa said.

The former governor openly pledged support for Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, noting that his administration has shown commitment to tackling Nigeria’s challenges.

“We have come, not with liability but assets to make what you have built better. We are coming with our experience, with our knowledge of the terrain, with love, and with resources to better the lot,” Okowa added.

The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Vice Presidential candidate also urged pro-Tinubu support groups to intensify mobilisation for the President’s continuity, saying he “deserves another term.”

Earlier, the IGN Convener and National Chairman, Dr. Oke Idawene, commended Tinubu for coming into office prepared, stressing that his policies were already making a difference in the country’s prosperity.

“The message of this afternoon is no other than to say never again shall we allow those who are stealing Nigeria’s prosperity to lead us again,” Idawene declared.

He highlighted improvements in student loans and security measures, adding that progressive governors were laying the groundwork for Tinubu’s 2027 victory.

Senator Binta Garba also lauded the President’s interventions, insisting that Tinubu turned the tide when the country faced critical difficulties.

Renewed Hope Must Continue Beyond 2027

“Continuity will make Nigeria a better country. The renewed hope initiative must continue beyond 2027,” Garba said.

On her part, former Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, called on Nigerians to pray for the President, citing the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s victories in recent by-elections and the international success of Nigerian girls in sports as positive indicators of progress.

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Prof. Nora Daduut, who served as “Mother of the Day”, commended the organisers for sustaining the summit.

She urged women and youth leaders to continue promoting the renewed hope message across the country.
