APC Must Accept The Fact That It Is Now An Opposition Party In Kano - Ahmad

Former presidential media aide, Bashir Ahmad, has urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to face reality and accept the fact that it is now an opposition party in Kano State.

According to Ahmad, the APC needs to focus on uniting its members in Kano and work towards regaining prominence among the people.

Naija News reports the APC chieftain made the submission in a post on his Facebook page while reacting to the outcome of Saturday’s bye-election in the state, in which the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) recorded an overwhelming victory.

Ahmad said Saturday’s results show the APC needs serious work to reclaim its place in Kano.

He wrote: “Even though I absolutely failed to find the right words to describe today’s by-elections in Kano, the elections whose results began flying around as early as 9AM, but one thing became crystal clear to me that what our party needs in Kano is unity. Real, absolute unity. Unity among members and most importantly, unity among the key stakeholders.

“We must stop being in denial and accept that the APC is now an opposition party in Kano. And until we acknowledge that reality, we won’t begin the serious work needed to reclaim our place. It is time to collaborate with anyone and everyone to restore our party’s relevance and winning power again.

“Let’s regroup.

“Let’s rebuild.

“Let’s restrategize,” he wrote.
