The spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, has responded after an artist manager accused officers of the command of threatening to frame him up as a cultist and internet fraudster. In a series of post on X, the artiste manager claimed he was driving at about 2am today when he ran into some officers on the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge. He said the officers suddenly accused him of being the man responsible for the k!lling of several police officers on the Island. He said the officers then dragged him out of his car, forced him into their Hilux and drove him to the Onikan police station where he was ordered to take off his shirt, shoes and socks, but they dound nothing incriminating on him. He claimed the officers then asked him to give them N3 million before he will be let off, but he refused, telling them he had done no wrong. He said that after about two hours, the officers reduced the money to N500, 000. Seeing that he would not give in to their demands, he claimed the officers threatened to forge documents on him claiming hes a cultist and internet fraudster. Reacting to the post, Hundeyin said the state Commissioner of Police has summoned the accused officers to the command’s headquarters while investigation into the matter has commenced.
