NCAA spokesperson speaks on why KWAM1 has not been charged to court

The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Mike Achimugu, has given a reason why singer KWAM1 has not been arraigned in court like the Ibom Air unruly” passenger. Many Nigerians took to social media to demand the arraignment of KWAM1 after Emmanson was arraigned before a Magistrate court in Lagos for similar offence. While speaking on Channels TV today August 12, Achimugu said as with the case involving KWAM1, the airline did not press charges and so he hasn’t been charged to court unlike Ibom Air which pressed charges against Ms Emmanson necessitating her arraignment in court. The airline [in the singers case] did not activate its right to take the passenger to court. As a result, the NCAA petitioned relevant authorities to prosecute the passenger, issuing an advisory to the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) to have the passenger banned, Achimugu said He mentioned that it isn’t in the rights of the NCAA to prosecute anyone, and that the agency has petitioned the AGF and the Police for KWAM1 to be prosecuted.  He said in the Ibom Air case, it was the airline that immediately exercised its right to take up the matter in court.  Maybe because their staff had been assaulted, the airline immediately activated its right to take up the matter, and it went to court, so the NCAA is not involved in the case of the Ibom Air passenger, he said    The post NCAA spokesperson speaks on why KWAM1 has not been charged to court appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
