The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on New Media, Olusegun Dada, has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will continue to defeat opposition parties in future elections with its effective media and digital communication strategy.

Speaking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Monday, Dada credited the party’s success in the 2023 presidential election to a well-coordinated media campaign that countered widespread scepticism about Tinubu’s electability.

He said, “We were able to ensure that we elected a president that people initially said was unelectable. We elected him, and we have continued on that trajectory.”

The presidential aide dismissed claims that the emerging opposition coalition poses a fresh threat to the ruling party, insisting that the APC had repeatedly overcome similar political movements.

Dada said, “In the run-up to the 2023 elections, we were able to sell and push our candidates in spite of the noise, the lies, and distractions. It’s not as if we have not been dealing with these individuals [Obidients] before. Some of them have just changed their cloaks … but they are all the same people.

“We have beaten them three times, and we will continue to beat them again if it comes to the elections because at the end of the day, we stick to the hard facts and admit where we have made certain errors that require tweaks here and there.”

Dada noted that the APC welcomes constructive criticism, stating that it helps the party and government adjust policies to the benefit of Nigerians.

“We … are taking the criticism and feedback because these are important for us to escalate to Mr. President and the appropriate authorities to ensure we do not have a continuous back and forth on issues crucial to the Nigerian people,” he explained.

The presidential aide argued that opposition tactics remain predictable and largely ineffective against the APC’s communication strategy.

He added, “They’re not bringing anything new to the table. Their strategy has always been to attack, attack, attack.

“Our strategy has been to clarify, not be distracted from the issues, cut through the noise to sell our candidates, sell our policies as a government, and as a ruling party.”
